The DCL modulating electric actuator features an integral design that combines the motor, control pack, and housing into a single compact unit. Unlike conventional actuators that require an additional external cavity to accommodate a positioning controller—resulting in bulky, unbalanced, and less aesthetic designs—DCL has developed a miniaturized multifunctional control pack comparable in size to the terminal block of an on-off actuator. This control pack is installed directly within the wiring cavity, fully replacing the terminal block while maintaining a clean, compact appearance.

The dead band (dead space) of the DCL smart electric actuator is adjustable, allowing users to tailor the actuator’s sensitivity to the input signal. A smaller dead band provides higher sensitivity, but higher sensitivity is not always optimal. When the input signal is vulnerable to external interference, a larger dead band effectively prevents frequent false starts, improving operational stability and significantly extending actuator service life. Conversely, when the control signal is clean and high positioning accuracy is required, a smaller dead band delivers more precise control.

Valve positioning accuracy is also influenced by gear backlash, particularly the machining precision of the worm gear set. To ensure consistent quality, DCL’s SQE team employs professional inspection equipment to rigorously test every gear supplied. In addition, multiple proprietary design features and strict assembly process controls are implemented to eliminate gear oscillation and minimize noise under varying load conditions. These measures have enabled DCL to set a benchmark for compact electric actuators in the Chinese market.

All DCL actuators have been rigorously tested and certified by CSA in accordance with UL and CSA standards. Across all series, the duty cycle exceeds 70%, ensuring reliable performance under demanding operating conditions. The integrated EPS self-calibration system virtually eliminates hunting and provides standard output position feedback for precise and stable control.
